xbox 360 white dots?

I have a 306 Elite. In more graphic intensive games (Gears of War, Halo 3) there'll be white dotted lines running through the screen at times. This happens when running it at 720p or 1080i with both the component and HDMI cables that came with the console. I haven't noticed this when playing Guitar Hero 3.
Has anyone had this problem or know what might be causing it?

Hmm, sounds like the GPU might be overheating, meaning it's gonna fail on you most likely. If it's within 30 days of store replacement, take it back and get another one.

I second this. 2 of my friends had that as the warning signs to their RROD failures.

I agree. My games displayed similar on-screen glitches before the system died on me last week.

You might want to put the 1800 Xbox replacement number on speed dial.

Sounds like the precursor to the RRoD to me as well. That's what my first system was doing when it died.
