Hopefully you're right Zoo, cause so far the PS3 has been a gaming disappointment for me as an owner of a 360 as well...
The Wii has been a big disappointment for me - but there's certainly no correlation to my experience and its market success!
I wonder if your perception of the PS3 is similar to mine of the Wii?
I bought both the Wii and PS3 in Dec 2006 - didn't buy the 360 because of RROD issues. At the time, I played both equally, Resistance and Wii Play. I bought many games for both (about 6-8 each) for the next 3 months. Aside from the ocassional Wii Play tennis, I couldn't get into any of the Wii games and my 11 year old son only played Zelda for a couple of weeks. I enjoyed the PS3 games more. As a result, I stopped buying wii games.
If a great multi-platform game comes out, I buy it for the PS3 (instead of the Wii). Even if the game is also available on the Wii, my perception
is that is has no (exclusive) games I want to play. Why buy the same game on the Wii when I can get it in hi def on the PS3? (Yes I've bought Mario Galaxy and tried it).
If I had a 360 at the time I bought the PS3, I think I would have bought the 360 version of multi-platform games based on reviews of a couple of games which showed the smoother framerates for the 360. Even for games which were equal, I would have probably continued to buy the 360 version (out of habit?).
So my perception that the Wii has no games is really just based on my experience. The fact that I hooked on Guitar Hero 3 and that it's also available on the Wii does little to change that impression.
