I'm planning to buy a copy. After HD gaming for months though, the Wii graphics don't excite me very much.

This was really the only game that interested me way back when I heard about Wii and it was supposed to be a launch title. Don't know if I'll pick this one up yet. I'll probably rent first. It will be the first time in like 4 months I have powered up the Wii. I wonder if I'll need to take any updates to play this.

I think this will be big and I expect them to be gone by the end of the work day.

If it's a work day? I see that release day is November 12th. I think this is a stat holiday (at least in BC) because of Rememberance day.

I plan on checking out a couple stores at or near opening and have pre-ordered a copy from Amazon as insurance.

I have my copy pre-ordered. It's definitely going to be a top-seller in NA.

This sounds like it could be the winner of the season. My son and I have been waiting for quite a while since it was originally due out in the spring.

Very low numbers for Mario Galaxy in Japan debunked as the game goes on to sell a quarter million copies ( 251,000 ). Number one selling game for the week with Ace Combat for the X360 at number 2 with 77,000 copies sold.

Super Mario Galaxy Release Date in BC

So there seems to be confusion out there about when SMG is released. The official date is Nov. 12, but I checked out a few retailers in the Vancouver area (Toys 'R Us, Future Shop, Blockbuster) who tell me they won't have it until the 14th.

There are reports from the east that it's on the shelves in some stores. Anybody spot it on the West Coast?

Thanks.

It all depends on when they get in in stock. FS has a Nov 14 release date but I got it from them today. The ship date was Nov 12.

I've had this issue with Nintendo product in the past and its not just B.C.

When I spoke to them, they essentially said what jaazzman said. Nov 12 is a ship date, not a street date.

Movies are different, they announce a street date which is always a Tuesday and the shipment date is 2 to 5 days ahead depending on where its going.

I walked over to HMV on Robson and Burrard and picked up the last copy. Guy said they got 150 in this morning and people were lined up to buy it at opening time.
