system update required first though.

Updated this morning before I left for work. Tried it for a few minutes. Seems VASTLY improved over the previous version. It fills my widescreen without black borders. It even has a width setting. Loading the browser is faster. Even loading pages seems faster.

Cheers Nintendo!

Finally I can hide that navigation bar. Excellent! I can pull the videos from my HTPC using Orb and watch them in full screen finally.

quick question for MarcP; do you have any tips for setting up Orb on your computer?

I find the video really laggy and takes a long time to start and also find that I am getting out of memory error messages on my Wii.

I have been moving my PC around and using the wii for internet at home the last couple days. It is much much better now. Much faster and now you can read the text without zooming in all the time.

Good job Nintendo!

Thumbs up

I like the improvements except for the new method of scrolling - it requires a bit too much effort to scroll smoothly for me.

I agree on the scrolling... the click and pull os waaay too sensitive. Was good before where you just went to the bottom of the page and held B down to move vertical only.

Overall I'm still happy with the improvements. Sure would be great if some of the plug-ins worked... would be nice to watch my curltv.com subscription account on the television.

Memory error? I don't get that at all. I just set Orb on my HTPC and log in via the Wii and it works. Quality isn't great and the Wii is on a 27" CRT right now, but it's good enough to watch The Daily Show while getting ready to go to work in the morning. There's the odd glitch once in a while, but I suspect it'll be better once I wire the Wii instead of being wireless.

But as far as media extending goes, I'll buy a modded Xbox sometimes this summer. The Wii is tolerable with Orb, but only because I don't have anything else right now.

I found the new scrolling a bit hard to use at first. However after a bit of time I like it a lot more. Now you can scroll at different speeds and in any direction. You can also scroll but being anywhere on the page as well.

MarcP...........I don't think the Wii can be wired.

I'm pretty sure there is a USB dongle to wire it, but I could be wrong. In any case, it's no big deal as I'll be using a modded xbox to be my media extender.

the USB dongle is used if you don't have a wireless router. The dongle is still wireless though and just plugs into your PC USB port.
