"The HTC Vive blows the Oculus out the water"

Review: HTC Vive

I'm waiting until next year but all the good news around the Vive makes it harder and harder to wait.

I suspect that eventually VR will get it's own sub as it encompasses much more than gaming. :-)

I haven't read the article about Oculus but it seems like the EULA is not very privacy friendly. I suppose when the owner is Facebook, all privacy matters are out of the picture.

I would say that alone might keep people away from it and go towards Vive.

Home Theatre: Yamaha HTR-6190, Klipsch Speakers, SANYO PLV-Z4, TOSHIBA HDDVD, LG BD555C, Cerwin Vega HTS12 Sub, VIP2300, XBox 360, HTPC.

No motion controllers for the Rift yet either, stuck using an Xbox One controller. I am very tempted by this as well. Would be for the Vive as well. Makes me curious how Sony is going to fair through all of this.

That's exactly why I want to wait until 2017 to see how the dust settles. Right now the Vive looks absolutely amazing and I can't wait to jump into VR. Sony however may be the dark horse, it's the weakest spec wise but it has a pre-built ecosystem ready to go. Not every Steam user can handle the Vive but every PS4 owner can run the PSVR. If the PSVR opens up to PC development at a $399 entry point (American) then it could ve a very strong contender.

VIVE has a pre-build Eco system as well, Steam. There are already 155 apps and game for your VR pleasure. Both PC versions also have a head start on Sony. They do have the lower entry / less technical point however.
