Protecting my email address from spambots.

Ok.

I know that one of the main things in trying to avoid spam (although, I've had my email addy long enough that I get close to 200 SPAM's a day) is to not post it online.....

However, I've got a photography website, and I am thinking about going more aggressive in getting some gigs. (as in posting my email) I've got a page written up here (part html converted by MS word - sorry, was on my work computer) and I've posted it here:

http://www.peterchangphotography.com..._weddings.html

I've got my email as a clickable link at the bottom, but used http://guymal.com/nospam_email_link.php to try to defeat the spambots.....

How effective is this? I can't see my rogers address in the HTML, but wonder how it works against today's spambots.

Thanks,
P

The most dangerous thing you can do is give your e-mail address to friends. They keep it on their computers, get infected by a virus that raids their address book, and voila!

I can see your rogers email addie in that link. I don't know a lot about spambots. Do they only scan the source html? I imagine they could attempt to follow links (mailto and dump the output into another parser.
