Thumbs up Pale Moon web browser (hotrodded Firefox fork)

I just test drove the Pale Moon browser and it is very fast and efficient. I still like Firefox but I don't care much for some of the stuff Mozilla has been cooking into it lately. Pale Moon is an open source Firefox fork that attempts to be compatible in most ways while keeping the feature set focused on performance and efficiency:

Pale Moon also seems to know to keep its big mouth shut as I surf, unlike Chrome and IE constantly blabbing and/or phoning home. I think I'll give it a long term test.

Are you testing under Windows or Linux?

I've been running the Ubuntu Live CD off and on for a while now and I'm impressed...

Just need to sort out finding drive mounting rails for this Antec case. :-)

I've installed it on Linux and Windows 7, and I just installed it on an Android device. It is very early on to give much of an impression, but it is quite snappy on all of them. On Pale Moon's Android version many of the newest Firefox add-ons don't work but seem to work fine on the Linux and Windows versions. I'd like to see an OS X version (dare I say an iOS version too?!) since we're also running that here too.

Once I sort the extra drive mounting issues, I'll give it a multi platform test.

Thanks for the heads up.

I came across recommendations for Pale Moon when reading about all the odd background behaviours and unwarranted data collection/tracking seen over network analyzers when people are using the big name browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft IE and Edge, Firefox, Safari). From what I can see with my own tests with add-ons like Privacy Badger, Adblock, NoScript, etc. along with using Incognito mode the Pale Moon browser's footprint is really clean and it is quicker than Firefox with the same add-ons.

I've been using Pale Moon for a while. Firefox started doing weird things with the Gui. I can spend alot of time using extensions and mods to make it the way I want it, but then I found Pale Moon which is more what I want in a Webbrowser. Back/Forward/Bookmarks/Stop/Refresh buttons on the left, address bar, search box. Add a decent bookmarks dropdown (just like firefox) and i'm golden. Firefox kept screwing with it and it was annoying me. Palemoon seems to have taken the forget at the right time. I recently upgraded from the 32 bit to 64 bit version of palemoon. It feels really fast.
