Laptop as TV Receiver

Hey guys,

Great forum here and lots of very knowledgable folk. Apologies if this question has been asked and answered.

Is there software out there that would allow me to turn my Windows Laptop into a portable receiver / tv with my Bell Fiber Op TV Service?

No, you need to use their STBs. You could record to an HTPC using Hauppauge. There are links to the Hauppauge discussions in the following FAQ on Recording HD. HTPC section of this forum.

Another option is a Slingbox or similar device. It gets plugged into the STB and network, and you can watch it on your computer with no extra hardware directly connected to it.
