Video card for TV backup

hey guys,

I just got rid of our old VCR and now am running our PVR exclusively !

Sometimes I want to transfer a TV show to my computer, what is the easiest/cheapest way to do this ?

I was thinking of getting a basic video card with composite (aka RCA) input:

Any suggestions for me ?

Thanks !

What's your input, or source? Unencrypted or encrypted?

I bought a Hauppauge PVR-150 TV tuner card for this exact purpose. It has the composite inputs and can encode to MPEG2 on the fly.

You can get it online for $70-$80.

You can get an 'easycap' device if you just want video transfer (i.e. no tv tuning, only rca-input) they're like $15-20 from China. I can't say where, but google should help you, just search for easycap 5707
