personal + best of hd to premeire only

was just wondering which hd channels best of hd adds to premeire? it seems premeire has almost all the best of hd channels except 235 242 246 247 248 249 and the hbo mc and sc packs is this correct? only 6 channels and the other specialty packs?

I have Best of HD in Calgary.
I get all the HD channels apart from Movie Central/HBO (5), SuperChannel (2), Hollywood Suite (4), Discovery World, Sportsnet World, Oasis, Smithsonian, HiFi, RadX and Fairchild 2.

what i was saying was that i now have personal +best of hd. it seems premeire tv has almost all of those two combined except for just a few hd. is this the case, because it would be a bit cheaper i think. how much is just premeire tv alone

Hey there,

Premier TV includes Best of HD:
Current Pricing
Personal TV = $39.90
Personal TV + Best of HD = $74.90
Premier TV (which includes Best of HD) = $89.90

If you do the online chat ability on the Shaw website with someone, they can email you a pdf showing the differences between packages and what you have or want to know about regarding channel lineups.

Shaw Employee, Opinions are my own unless otherwise stated.

cafebrad: That's pretty common now. If you've been with shaw about 2 years or longer your probably on grandfathered rates. Yes prices have gone up, but those grandfathered rates at still cheaper than what new customers pay.

When shaw changes packages and pricing the remove the order codes from their system. that way the rep's are not able to put people on these better packages. This sucks because you can't upgrade. They have remove your old bundle and put you on a new one which kills all of your grandfathered discounts.

I noticed on my latest bill that with Shaw's biannual markup, my rate will be going up by $7.90 on March 1st. Shaw Champ or another rep, wanna break down the increase for us?

yes, just noticed that on my bill that I received today. I'd be curious to know what the excuse is this time to raise it up another $7.90 too??

Mine too by $7.90
Why don't they just come out and say no more grandfathered rates and give us the increase all at once. Get it over with. I'd rather get shot in the head once than 4 in the gut.

Any idea what aspect they raised? Mine is also going up 7.90

I have:

Personal TV + BB50 @ 107/month
Best of HD @ 20/month

Best of HD has been underpriced by $15 for over 2 years now.

It looks like the current rate for BB50+Personal TV is 119.90. I guess the the increase could be in that.

The only thing that keeps from from cancelling best of HD is that it's only $20/month. Shaw includes most of the sports channels and stuff in basic so it would be an easy cut if that's the one going up.

BTW they keep us on grandfathered rates because it keeps them under the posted rates which are pretty much on par with telus. It's that slight discount in grandfathered rates that keeps a lot of us from switching. If it became a wash between the two services I'd probably give telus a try (all telus really needs to do is offer an affordable best of HD package. I wish they had something like that).

No idea.

Yup, just checked and $7.90 seems to be the number this time around.

Here's mine as it stands today.

Best of HD
35.00
Personal TV + High Speed 10 (<-Though I actually get 20!)
77.00
Personal Home Phone
15.00

Between Shaw and Hydro I'm going to have to give something up if they keep these increases coming regularly. 2 a year is killing me.

(Do I need to say it sucks to be poor? "Canadian poor" that is. First world problems eh?)
