Bringing PC to my Home Stereo

I am looking at the ability to play mostly music from my PC to my home entertainment system. The secondary stuff would be pics and then the net. I have a wireless router along with an ethernet connection by the entertainment system. What are my options and what products can you recommend.

if you use itunes, i think the cheapest audio only would be an airprort express. this little device is both a wireless access point as well as an audio device. you buy a cable that plugs into the unit and outputs into l/r audio connectors which in turn go into your receiver. you then control it through itunes or from your iphone/ipod touch. very nice device under $100. or if you want movies, pictures, music, etc. then you need a network streamer which are a dime a dozen. apple makes one known as the appletv which is pretty good for its price, although your files need to be compatible with its (apple) formats.

The Playstation 3 can access multimedia files (video, music, etc) from Windows Media Player running on a PC on your network via wireless (or wired). You would get the ability to play Blu-Ray movies with this option as well (if you don't already have that).

I expect other game systems might do this as well.
