GeForce 6800XT - Pan Scan problems

Wondering if anyone can help me.

I have a GeForce 6800xt video card and a Samsung 17in LCD monitor. Today I received a s-video / audio balun like this one (but much cheaper!)

It works great but the screen size it displays to my Samsung 42in plasma is bigger than the physical screen. I have to pan/scan. If I try to reduce the resolution of the secondary display to the TV, the screen size stays the same but the display image just gets bigger. I still have to pan/scan.

I would like to reduce the resolution so that the entire display fits into the 4:3 window on the TV but it doesn't look like it can.

If it can't, can anyone recommend a card that can?

Are both the monitor and the TV 16:9?

S-video connections are always a 4:3 format no matter what resolution. You will need to use either a DVI/HDMI, VGA, or component connection to get a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Multi-monitor setups are always problematic.

Doubly so if you are using an S-video connection because it has a fixed aspect ratio. Unless you are running in clone mode, which may not be possible over S-video, you're probably always going to have that issue.
