Alienware server with Vista Media Center on Bell?

http://www.alienware.com/Microsite_P...nnel/main.aspx

I'm able to get my hands on this product and it looks quite amazing, it says it uses Cable cards in the back. Is it possible to hook this thing up to work with my bell satellite system? They have dealers in Canada for it, so im guessing it has to work with Bell, no?

Unfortunately, no this will not work in Canada. Cablecard is a US-only technology (if you want more details go to http://www.dropthebox.ca).

Your options for media center in Canada are limited to:
- analog cable
- analog antenna
- standard definition digital cable (converted to analog)
- high definition digital antenna

Alienware likely sells configurations that support the options above, but their cablecard units will be useless north of the 49th parallel.

Sorry,
Pete

Cablecard is only for cable, and only in the USA.

For satellite, and all Canadian providers, you need you use their box and a tuner/capture card.
