No digital out from SB Live!

Hello Gentlemen,

I have my PC hooked up to my TV and have no sound. I purchased a 1/8" mini plug to RCA to connect to my receivers coax connection and I have no sound. I have the mini plug hooked up to "Digital" on the back of my sound card. The sound card is Sound Blaster Live! I'm not sure if this sound card supports what I am trying to do as it is a few years old.
I have have been playing with settings in the control panel and keep seeing SB Live or SoundMAX Digital. Don't I have to adjust a seeting from analog to digital somewhere???

Which model SB Live! card are using specifically? There are about 8 different cards branded as Live! not including any that might be part of the Audigy line.

First, you should probably make sure you are using the latest SB drivers for your card.

If your card is digital capable, look for "Audio HQ" in your Control Panel and bring up the device settings. Lower the sample rate to 48KHZ, or 44.1KHz, and see if that works.

The card is a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 digital card as per the rep at Dell (which may be half my problem)

Try the suggestion I outlined above. It does originally come from Creative support.

I also have a Live! 5.1 card. To get the digital output I went to Start/All Programs/Creative/Sound Blaster Live/Creative Surround Mixer and put a check mark in "Digital Output Only". This, however, disables the analog output of the card. It seems to be a case of one or the other, not both at the same time. Hopefully, you have the same card and this works for you.
