Reopening an old thread. For the last six years I have used a Slingbox Pro-HD as described above. The 500 was on sale on Boxing Day so grabbed one for 250 or so. Kind of a bet, but thinking the encryption/compression might be better. Hooking it up tomorrow, but won't test remotely until at the cabin next weekend. Any comments on reliability of signal of the Pro-HD vs the 500?

Also, for further reflection, I stream both to my MacPro via web app and can also stream to iPad and AirPlay to my Apple TV. The iPad/AirPlay is working well, as long as iPad is plugged in and doesn't go to sleep.

Home source is a Bell 9242 PVR. When I looked at the specs, the Pro-HD maxes out at 540 vertical lines, the 500 is 1080x1920, but may only be 1080 I vs 1080p. Not that I have bandwidth on the receiving end for 1080P...
