Lightbulb HDMI TV Tuner cards

Hi All - with all the tv tuner cards out there, which would you recommend? Needs to have HDMI input. Thanks!

Do you mean HDMI output?

I am thinking they may mean INPUT.

For like INPUTING say from a digital box, etc?
(or from a game console)

Is the only CARD I am aware of (there are some external based ones I think that do).

Problem with them is, that depending on the source.. say like from a cable digital box, the output is HDCP as far as I am aware.. and will not allow it to be recorded.
You often have to use the COMPOENT connections to do HD recording.

HDCP is an issue with most HDMI capture devices and cards. That's why some of them are component cable based.

That's what I thought.

HDCP is a pain sometimes :P

In my basement media setup.. I have an HDMI switch box down there. Works FINE on input (used as switch between say two game systems) into the surround sound.

For some reason, the OUTPUT doesn't like it though.. I am guessing some form of HDCP.
Goes fine out cable straight to my TV or the HDMI for the projector.
Put that same switch inbetween? No output.
