That's why I suggested the possibility of using another programmable remote. The remote/receiver combo I suggested will work but it's not a good remote but it has a good, cheap receiver. What you want may exist but I haven't run across it.

There are other solutions but they are a lot more complicated than installing a couple of XBMC Add-ons, editing a configuration file and doing a Windows registry hack.

I've done pretty well with Unified Remote on our android tablet, and it does more than just control XBMC. Does Yatse have any advantages?

In terms of Android, I love how the official XBMC remote just shows the pictures for tv shows. But it doesn't have enough features. Yahtse can show the pictures, too, but not as a default. It's only on this side menu you pull out. Otherwise all you ever see is this ugly looking remote.

Just to update, I had already had this remote.

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title...ote_for_Ubuntu

But I couldn't figure out how to custom program any buttons. The main button I wanted was the "L" key to cycle subtitles.

So I loaded this program, LM Remote Keymap.

http://www.lmgestion.net/@en-us/4/22/60/article.asp

And I was able to find my remote (called a Hana in their system), and I was able to program one of my remote keys (the "*") to be L and cycle subtitles.

I also used this LM Remote Keymap to set one of the buttons to open the application XBMC.exe, and if it's already open, bring it to the foreground.

So now the only thing I still need to do is make sure XBMC opens in fullscreen mode, or if it's already open in windowed mode, for a button to toggle fullscreen. You can do that with a keyboard with the usual ALT-ENTER, or XBMC has a hotkey with the backslash (\) key. But unfortunately I can't seem to get the remote to recognize those fancier keystrokes.

Anyway, I'm closer.

Does anyone know how I can reprogram another regular key, like "F", to toggle fullscreen for XBMC? If I can do that, I'm sure I can get the keymap program to work with an "F".

As I mentioned earlier, XBMC has a keymap editor add-on.
