Watching The Lumineers set (1:20 pre-recorded) right now. Streaming is averaging about 3400 kbps according to my router.

I don't know what they are sending for the audio but it sounds quite good. For all I know it could be 128 kbps AAC. The bass is quite loud though. Being a concert I suppose they have pushed the bass to high level.

Video is crystal clear and despite being dark is not muddy. This was about 3' away from a 42" plasma TV.

I tried playing some of the links on the itunes festival site and got the message "Your computer is not configured for streaming video". ??? It is an Asus netbook but I do stream video from other sites. Any idea what configuration they require? My itunes version is up to date so that is not it.

Yes, the quality of both the audio and video (from Apple TV anyway) has really impressed me.

The stream doesn't appear to use any more b/w than a Netflix HD movie but it looks / sounds better to me.

PG44 I don't use my netbook for iTunes but I know it really struggles with HD youtube. So I would not be surprised if it is underpowered. Most streaming sites will a lower resolution video. Festival I don't know.

What is the processor and amount of RAM?

It is an atom processor from about 4 years ago and only 1 G ram so itunes may not let me try for HD video. They should at least specify minimum requirements or let the user try. Too bad, I was looking forward to Arctic Monkeys and Jake Bugg next week.

I will do some testing on my geriatric 1.6 Asus eee netbook and let you know how it works. I goosed the RAM up to 2GB to stop the disk from thrashing so much. I assume the graphics card is useless for this video format.

Also, I know in iTunes preferences you can specify the resolution (720p or 1080p) for downloads under the Store tab. I have mine set to 720p since my Apple TV is connected to a 720p plasma TV.

My Eee refused to do anything. Throwing up the message you described. My other equally old laptop connected but it failed to play anything other than a single frame. I guess you need rather modern hardware. What exactly I don't know.

Thanks for confirming Jake. I tried on my work Thinkpad and could get on but it just hung whenever I tried to watch anything. Perhaps a combination of slow network and high demand. I guess I am SOL this time.
