Question How to subscribe to a YouTube channel with an Apple TV

I know how it works on a PC but can you actually do it with the Apple TV YouTube app?

There doesn't seem to be a way to do it in the Apple TV Youtube app.

The only way to subscribe to a channel is to do it on a PC in a web browser.

Thanks. The ATV is elegant and fast but sometimes basic things like that annoy me.

That and it refusing to power-off by holding down PLAY/PAUSE. One of these days I am going to use a real remote for the ATV.

Jake the sequence I have in my harmony to turn off the ATV is Menu 2000ms, Play 4000ms.

That doesn't work for you?

As my father is fond of saying "If my Aunt had balls she would be my Uncle."

Basically that is good advice except I don't have a Harmony Remote.

But if I understand correctly you can press and hold MENU then press and hold PLAY/PAUSE on the ATV remote to put it to Sleep. For whatever reason if my remote focus is along the top of the main page PLAY/PAUSE will not send the ATV to Sleep. If I move the focus down to an app icon it works.

I will test a few things tonight to see if I can get a better idea what is stopping it from Sleeping. Since I use my ATV to stream music the TV is never on. So I never know where the focus is. I just guess most of the time until it works and the unit Sleeps.

Well, I was sure when I followed that key sequence with the original remote it did the same. Just hold the menu till it brings you back to the mainscreen and then hold play for 4ish seconds.

The little white light eventually goes out.

No that does not work when the focus is at the top of the main screen. Try it yourself. It works for Movies and TV.

Well would ya look at that... it don't work.

I've always been inside an "app" when I shut it down so I guess I never noticed.

It's not a huge deal for me since I have the ATV set to turn itself off after 15 minutes anyway.

Thanks for reminding me of the sleep function. I'll do that and hopefully my OCD will subside.
