by the way, that's exactly what i did and it works fantastic, couldn't be happier! blown away by how good quality the OTA is too!

it gets better!
The boys at npvr are working on an app for use with Samsung Smart Hub devices (TVs and BlueRay players) that will eliminate the need for a pc or extender at the client.

PC running Plex (PMS media server) with Couchpotato and Sickbeard also installed located anywhere in your house

then any number of Plex clients connected to the TV , Roku, Apple TV , Sony GTV, Visio GTV etc.

Hitachi 55HDT79, Yamaha RX-V540, Energy RC Mini's, and S8.3 sub, Roku 3, Plex , Couchpotato and Sickbeard Google TV GS8

I would put a 2nd vote for PLEX, at least for HTPC/PLAYBACK (doesn't have any Tuner level access say like XMBC, etc). Does have some web-channel playback (discovery, etc).

I have it running at home.. by far one of the simplest to set up.
Great playback support 2.0-5.1 full playback, have thrown just about ever video format at it fine.
Playback as stated above, on MANY devices, its built into my LG TV.

Only downside, is yes having to download it all manually for it (or like stated above, use some forms of automated programs)
