SqueezeBox Touch power supply upgrade

I know that a few of you wanted to know if a new power supply would make a difference. It does a lot and for the good. I changed the wart for a bigger switching power supply 5 volt, 5 amps from Circuit Test Parts Number RPT25-05-P5-A2. You will also need an adaptor for the output plug 2.1mm x 5.5mm female to 2.5mm x 5.5 mm male. Also the AC cable is not included. Price is 19.99 for the supply, 3.80 for adaptor and 2.99 AC cord. Amazing improvement for pennies.

The sound is more refined, with a lot more definition.

I have the Touch connected to a Bryston BDA-1 DAC

and the Touch is connected to the network via modules using the house wiring.

Works great

Maybe a dumb question, but wouldn't using powerline ethernet introduce more noise into the system than the wall-wart would clean up?

I mean you have a solid source, cleaned up power supply and a damn fine DAC, and use a networking protocol that is potentially very noisy. Why not hook up via clean gigabit ethernet? I would have to think that AC current plus normal power line volatilities would introduce all kinds of noise, jitter, and what have yous.

Just a question.
