Editing it out would have been a very ignorant thing to do!

edited from Wikipedia

The word swastika is derived from the Sanskrit word svastika meaning any lucky or auspicious object, and in particular a mark made on persons and things to denote good luck.

It occurs mainly in the modern day culture of India, sometimes as a geometrical motif and sometimes as a religious symbol. It remains widely used in Eastern religions / Dharmic religion such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.

I am aware of the different meaning in various religions but I'd be suprised if many in the west know about that. I'm sure most would just see an evil nazi camel and be offended.

People are easily offended.

I'm curious if anybody complains to the FCC about it.

I'm more annoyed that the contestants were made to beg from the residents in one of the challenges, when on the ride there they saw all of the poverty. Begging from people who could least afford it - shameful.

At least they were only seconds behind them.

While I'm not a fan of this sort of challenge either, there was a brief mention that the collection was for the Red Cross. I'm not 100% sure if that was a ruse to collect more money, or if it was a genuine statement. The money however was not returned to the contestants in any case, so hopefully someone somewhere made sure it went to some sort of charity or organisation that could make good use of it. Perhaps the CBS web site has more info as I'm sure we were not the only ones that felt this way.

Jaipur is a large city (2.3 million people) that has slums and rich areas. I'm guessing that they were performing in an area that had well to-do people walking by who could afford to donate 100 rupees ($2.44 Canadian) to each group. Not unlike panhandlers and homeless people in every major city in North America.

What has struck me this season is how some groups don't evaluate the challenge before beginning. Keisha and Jenn nearly lost by not fillling the water while handing stuff up. Few looked at the air pumps. I also recall Mel with the camel feed basket. In so many situations, a little observation would save considerable time.

I wish all challenges had a way to "speed" up that would reward contestants that applied brain and brawn.

Good episode last night though!

The former cheerleaders really showed their true colours last night. I couldn't stand them getting frustrated and yelling at the shopkeeper just because they fell behind in the challenge. And the way they were complaining about the taxi driver not understanding them... You're in a foreign country! Don't expect the whole world to know how to speak English! That attitude is so American!!!

The first penalty (air pump) was probably worth it but the second was poor reading of the clue.

I'm waiting for the bro/sis team to screw up but I doubt that will happen.

It was obvious early on who was going home last night.

Mike / Mel were foolish to go in the other direction when everyone was going in the other direction.

When you see one team go off in the other direction, it's possible they are screwing up but when you see three or four other teams go off in the other direction, you really need to rethink your strategy!

If you and four other teams screw up then you still have a fighting chance but if you are the ONLY team that screws up then you are done.

Had they "followed" those other cars, they would likely have still been in the race.

Hope Mom is okay.

The bro/sis team did screw up a few episodes back...when the guy made his sister follow him in the wrong direction...they were real lucky they didn't get the boot.
They are a very strong team...but in this game...one mistake can be fatal...

They are just too good looking to wish them off the show!

I think after this show, I'm in the Luke and Mom camp
