I really agree with the person above who noted that it is a "choice" to leave some content for their hardcore channels (Hustler, etc). Last year one of the films had what was essentially a rape (though later in the film it turns out the girl was "role playing" all along but it wasn't explained till almost half an hour later). On one of the seymour butt films (which show a lot of explicit stuff already) they showed the end result of a money shot but cut out the actual money shot itself.

There has been some amazingly explicit films lately actually.

NOt that I've seen them of course Friend told me *cough*

This is a little off the subject but I've always thought it very odd that some actresses have no shame in showing all their naughty bits in an explicit love/nude scene in a mainstream (non-porn) movie but will raise their leg (that's facing the camera) as she's photographed laying on a chaise lounge chair beside a swimming pool to block the view of the lower part of her bikini! I guess she's worried about the camel toe factor or something. There's a real disconnect here in logic IMHO

Can anyone confirm if Super-Ecran edits their adult movies the same as TMN?

I believe they do. But I don't sub to Super Écran anymore. They say uncut and unedited but they say that about TMN too.

Try giving Astral a call at 1 87 SUPER ÉCRAN.

I don't believe TMN edit the movies. They receive the movies pre-edited for certain broadcast restrictions. The same way they can get 2.35:1 or 1.78:1 aspect from the studios, the Porn Studios probably have different variations of the movie available for different markets. I will ask my contact and confirm.

Believe the films are edited as per the regulations from the Ontario Censor Board as if they were to be shown in movie theaters in the province.

Thanks 57, I think that sounds most likely. Canada has a much more permissive market than many states, but I'm wondering if it's large enough to warrant the cost of editing and post-production such editing would require.

TMN has never answered my question as to why certain content is deemed too obscene for broadcast, especially as the content is being viewed by those requesting it. It makes no sense to cut 5% of the pie when you're serving the rest of it.

I'm curious if a regulation exists equating male ejaculation with a violent or degrading act, if that is indeed the case, or if this decision is merely someone's personal judgment.

I have received confirmation from my contact at Astral. They air the movies unedited. The movies they purchase are for their intended TMN audience. You will note that there is some variation in what is shown.

As stated by 57, the porn film production companies provide different versions for different markets just as mainstream films often shoot different versions for theatre and for television. (i.e. R-rated vs. PG-rated)

If a viewer wants to see the "money shot", the viewer has to pay the (extra) money. i.e. PPV & VOD do and TMN does not

Don't ask me how I know.

I've never understood the appeal of the money shot to straight men.

As a non straight man I would assume it would be like watching hockey and not seeing the puck go in the net. The announcer "He's on a break away. He's past the blue line. He sh........." and then you see the score board. I would imagine there would that a deprived sense. But just my speculation.

The point of this thread was to determine if TMN had somehow designated the male orgasm as "obscene" or "sexually degrading" in light of their decision to broadcast practically everything else. It seems that the removal of the money shot is related to marketing and not to community or morally-motivated broadcast standards.

As for why it is part of the appeal of these types of movies, pornography is, after all, an industry built primarily around the fantasy of male dominance. And for many men, the ultimate expression of dominance is to see a beautiful woman, who would otherwise be unattainable to a schlub like them, be pounded into oblivion and then take a proverbial shot to the face. By masturbating to it, he is in a way participating in the fantasy by taking an active role as a voyeur.

Sexuality is hard-wired; seeing male genitals engaged in sexual activity does not make you gay. Entire pornographic genres are built around men with huge d*cks, purchased and enjoyed by very straight men, as are bukkake films and other fetish genres. If seeing the male penis in action made you gay, untold millions of men would be homosexuals...

I can't believe any woman would get sexual pleasure from having a man ejaculate onto her face. The "money shot" is there solely to degrade the woman imho.
As a father of two adult daughters,I sincerely hope that men who constantly see this kind of crap, that is prevalent in today's porno, don't think this is one of the things you do when you are intimate with a woman.

The cable companies/satellite Providers have internal ratings for movies.

For Example:

X Rating is sex without showing penetration in Canada that would be SexTV. A few years back PlayboyTV and even Viewers Choice showed pornos clipped for no penetration.

XX Rating would be Playboy TV showing penetration without money shot or Anal.

XX+ Rating would be TMN - same as Playboy programming plus Anal

XXX Rating would be HustlerTV, Red Light, AOV Movies and AOV Clips. Also includes Viewers choice PPV and Cable VOD and Venus on Vu. Shows everything including Money Shot.

Rogers 2PVR's, four digital terminals.
All DigNet pack, TMN,, Playboy, Hustler, TEN Network, Howard Stern and Sports Pak Sub. 2 subs Sirius,1 sub XM.

TMN Adult movies -content warning-

I just recently re-subscribed to TMN after a couple of years absence...and what happened to the adult films? They use to be un-cut, un-edited, missing only the money shot (no loss there)...now, they've gone much softer, being only slightly more explicit than CityTV or Showcase.

I did search search out an earler thread from last year, but from the comments, things seemed unchanged at that time.

Has the standards now been changed? Perhaps 57 or one of the forums other users might know?
