Just browsing the Superchannel web site and noticed that two upcoming movies being shown are "Slumdog Millionaire" and "Australia" movies that I would have expected on TMN. "The Reader" is the only blockbuster movie being shown on TMN and next month "Paul Bart: Mall Cop" is the only big movie premiering on TMN. Am somewhat disappointed in TMN/HBO offerings.

I like both TMN and Superchannel. As they are different I like having the choice therefore I subscribe to both. It's a win-win situation as far as I'm concerned.

In October there is Yes Man, Twilight, and Milk on TMN as well as Paul blart.

Out west on movie central we are getting Role Models and Seven Pounds as well in October but no Yes Man for some reason.

Slumdog and Australia are 20th Century Fox studio movies and all of these appear exclusively on Superchannel.

Not sure of your definition of blockbuster, but here are other premieres this month on TMN:

Body Of Lies
Madagascar2
Changeling
Transporter 3

There are certainly offerings on both channels of interest to individuals and individual taste. That's why these options exist.

Thumbs up Went back to Superchannel!

I tried TMN & MPIX once again for a few mths but it was disappointing to say the least. Superchannel is cheaper and now has ondemand and we will get schhd 2 this month as well in NFLD. It seems they have better series and a better selection of movies. TMN is too HBO oriented for my taste these days and its getting worse. I really enjoy showtime boxing on Superchannel ! People also tell me to watch Burn Notice and they say its a great series.

The bottom line is that TMN & MPIX used millions of dollars to advertise their services. Then they joined with HBO and ruined the service. Ever since TMN is watered down with HBO content filler and less movies. Once more people try superchannel they will see that it offers much better series and a lot of different interesting movies. My interest on TMN passed after a few days. Very disappointed with TMN! HBO is very overrated and Superchannel offers more international series and not just american filler on Hbo. Besides Dexter and others are also now on showcase etc... Superchannel is a better deal and has good selection of ondemand content. Why pay for HBO repeats when you can get a different service that offers great movies and great boxing etc....

"The Closer" not showing

I notice that there is a new episode of the Closer for the folks down south, but it is not showing up on Superchannel. Is it normal for there to be a delay even though Superchannel is suppose to be a premium service?

Superchannel HD

Shaw cable has a free preview of Superchannel 1 and 2 HD. What a pile of crap these channels are showing, in a week i haven,t found one decent movie. Where are they getting these movies, the majority are either foul language, obscene sexual material or terrible acting and most lack a script. On Christmas day at least they have a Pink Panther festival.

Sons of Anarchy Season 2 has ended earlier this month in the US, but it hasn't started here in Canada yet. The first episode is a week from this coming Monday (Jaunary 4).

If you guys are upset about the content on superchannel then check out the porn on tmn late at night. Its pure unedited porn! Theres a lot more than foul language on TMN late at night.

Superchannel plays mainly direct to video movies which means they never aired in the Theatre (and for good reason ). They have a few mainstream ones from FOX, and a few series, but really if you don't like B movies, Superchannel isn't for you.

Oh, come on. As if TMN/MC are any different. All "premium" movie channels are mostly made of "direct to video" movies. At least Superchannel seems to have more titles than TMN/MC.

I don't agree Arthur. TMN has the rights to most of the major studio releases, so Superchannel really has no choice but to play the Direct-to-Video releases. I have both SC and TMN. Many of the movies on Superchannel aren't going to air anywhere else, so perhaps to their credit, you get to see material not available on other channels. It's just not very good. Some of it is comical, the acting is so bad.

Well, maybe it's just my taste, but it's been months since I last watched an actual movie on MC, just series. I find at least one or two movies a week worth seeing on Superchannel.
