Watching Rescue Me in beautiful HD & 5.1 on SC, as well as Baboon Something on NGC, also in glorious HD.
Keep it up Alliance Atlantis...Bring on History, Food and HGTV!!!

(I think combined they've already ran more true HD than A&E )

I just wish the bugs were transparent, instead of colored.

Wishing won't make it so...
Action is what's needed. Time to e-mail/write letters
+ phone calls to have them change the logo to a less intrusive, transparent one.

Logo's change...just look at CTV... it was that horrible humongus opaque bug and now it's barely noticable and transparent. I'm pretty sure that became a reality because of the massive complaining (it HAD to have something to do with it...).

I sure hope BEV adds these 2 channels ASAP. Other then HD NET, these are the only 2 other channels that I've been looking forward too... especialy Showcase HD with those awesome American HD shows that don't air in HD in the US (Rescue Me and Andromeda) + others that i've been looking forward to watching in HD like the L-Word & Weeds.

I already emailed SC.

There's a Rolling Stones concert from Rio on NGC within the week. Here's hoping it's in HD.

Can someone confirm a few things about Showcase HD:

1) Rescue Me... is it "uncensored" or is it edited? Denis Leary runs his foulmouth quite a bit on that show and I just hope they did not tamper with the episodes.

2) Same for L-Word... Cut or Uncut?

3) Do these shows air commercial free? (I pretty much allready know the answer to that one but one can always dream/hope...)

Thanks

CTV always had the "good" bug, but they had the opaque one to cover other logos. I assume they now get a "clean" feed and can use their own logo.

I also surfed by a few programmes on these new channels looking at the "HD". Some of the HD looked a little washed out for me, but I'll give it a few more days and a few more programmes before making any serious comments about PQ and sound quality.

I noticed they were running DD5.1 for an old DaVinci (1999) which would have been SD and DPL. The sound wasn't the usual "improperly encoded" sound out the LF & RF though. Interesting....

CSI looks pretty good.

As to unreal's post, I'm sure everything will air uncensored, just as it does on the regular channel. It is Television Without Borders remember.
And no, nothing's commercial free on here.

I'm finding the programming very washed out too.

NG HD (314) & Showcase HD (315) up on Shaw ... not on HD channel listings ... you have to punch in the channel numbers manually or move up one or two channels from 313.
