Monday they did show episodes of CSI: Miami in HD. Last night I flipped by and saw an episode of CSI:Miami that was not HD (The IPG advertised it as HD).

has anyone seen anything in true HD on this channel yet?
I recorded six CSI Miami episodes on Sunday Morning. I've watched four and they were all HD.

Sure it wasn't Monday morning you recorded them? I think the Labor Day marathon CSI espisodes have been the only thing they've shown in HD at all.

Other then the CSI Miami marathon on Monday has anything else been in HD on this channel?

Everytime I check its just streched 4x3, including letterboxed movies like Flight 93.

And still stereo only, not even Pro Logic. Their logo should be A&E HD LITE , as if their logo wasn't big enough already.
Send those emails !!

CSI Miami will run 8pm every week night so perhaps that is when the true HD will start.
The Jill Hennesey series about the coroner is running 6 episodes to day Sunday so we will see if it is true HD?
It is certainly a station with many commercials and a huge logo.
I suspect that a lot of the movies we see on HD channels are upconverted DVD's. I doubt they use HD-DVD at this time. I think they are pressure not to broadcast these movies in true HD evenif they could. I mean there is no copy protection via HDCP and we could record it. I think there is a lot going on behind the scenes in this area,

So far it's the only show that's been HD. So much for 65% HD, huh? I understand it's early but so far so bad.

This is not true. DVDs are a consumer format, which cannot be used by professionals. Same for HD-DVD.

Broadcasters use HD tapes provided by the studios. Usually these tapes are 1080/24P format (sometimes 1080i/24), which are converted to 720P or 1080i for broadcast.

They could not be caught using consumer formats, otherwise they would be shut down and suffer copyright infringement.

Has anybody received any feedback to the email they sent to A&E HD?

I sent one to complain about their sound and BIG bug but only got the automated "Thank you for contacting us" type of deal. It's been 5 days already.

I got no feedback either. Perhaps they've been inundated with suggestions...

Yes, you're right. at least for the movie that's on now. When I measured it the first day it was 8", now it's 6 and a half. But it also appears to have been shifted more toward the edge of the screen, which also helps.
