With Rogers, would it eventually (after free preview) be part of the "HDTV Specialty Channel Pack"? Or I can buy it as an individual channel?

Preview is through to July 2006 so I have a feeling the decision about what package the channel will on is a few months away for all providers!

Any news on Mythbusters?
That's my favorite Discovery show, and I have yet to see any mention of it.

I'm finally able to see Monday night on the ExpressVu EPG. Right up to 8PM the schedule on the SD and HD channels are identical. At 8PM the SD channel is showing Mythbusters followed by Monster Garage while the HD channel is showing Journey to the Centre of the Earth (they have it in the guide as two seperate 1hr episodes).

I can't see 11PM yet so I don't know if Daily Planet is in that timeslot.

Great news ... I cannot wait! I have been eagerly awaiting this channel. 24/7 Science and Nature channel ... it doesn't get any better. Awesome! My HD PVR is going to be working overtime.

WOW TV is here! NTSC RIP!

This seems to be the case with Rogers (at least in Scarborough). The IPG listings on my SA8300HD show the new HD lineup starting Monday 8:00PM on the current DISC HD channel numbers.

Bummer...IPG on Videotron shows same line-up as SD. Hope that's just an IPG issue.

Anyone know if cable carriers are legally obligated to carry the HD version on a HD channel?

Not sure about other providers but here in Cogeco land, we don't pay extra for this channel. It's part of the HD package we get for 6.99. Hopefully we don't have to pay for it come summer.

So is mine. I have the 9 hours all scheduled for recording. Not to mention what the other tuner is going to be recording. I'm going to fill half the HD in one night.

Since this channel is a pratnership between CTV and Discovery Communications they can draw upon the US Discovery HD Theatre's library. I read on their site once that they have over 1500 hours worth of HD content.

Bonjour!

For your information, following this press release- link below - and since the new Discovery Service airs on December 19, can we hope that the IPG will be updated for monday night. Programs will be different on 64 and 664 - and this update should allow HD PVR owners to program their recording.

It's not red in my guide. I am on Ultimate 12 pack I think and am paying extra $1.99 for discovery HD.
