If the CRTC aproves the maybe new MTV2 channel I wonder if shaw (the last service provider to add new channels) will add it rightaway or will it be like the other digital services that they still don't offer, like Muchloud, MuchMoreRetro, Wild TV, Punch Much, Sex TV etc.

As for the 70% Cancon won't they just do what every other canadian nettwork does? The 70% cancon. from 6 am to 8:00 pm, then primetime i.e. 8-10 or 11 is american.

The Cancon is 68% in daytime and 71% in primetime but as far as I know talktv's primetime hours are from 6-10 pm eastern (so the hours of 6,7,8,9)

It works out that 8 of those hours per week can be american and the 10 and 11 pm hours can be whatever.

As far as carriage, every service provide currently has talktv/MTV but since MTV2 will be a category 2 the companies don't have to carry it. I would think ExpressVu would carry MTV2 since of the whole CTV/BGM ownership thing although space is very limited these days. If there is enough demand then the providers will have to add it.

I think MTV2 is more likely to be added to Shaw before Much Loud or Punch Much or Sex TV because of one key factor....all those channels are owned by Chum and this new MTV2 will be owned by CTV / Bell

I know this is a little off topic for this forum but what’s the beef with Shaw and CHUM anyways. I don’t know if it is Shaw’s problem or it is Chum’s problem but why would either or make problems for one another when one provides the services and one carries the service. Just wondering.

P.S. Props for CTV and Bell for this.

I hope when the site becomes active, it isn't S**t! If they have overdrive like on MTV USA, that would rock! It would be a must to have message board on it too! I absolutely despise all the tv stations that have none, and there are LOTS! Seldom do programmers answer their emails, or in prompt accurate answer form! Anyone else get bothered by this?

Well CTV still hasn't put out another press release but Canada.com has a sneak peek at some of the programing. The 10 Spot will air nightly consisting of MTV USA reality programs.

http://www.canada.com/topics/enterta...003672f&k=5387

It looks like we will get to see most of the core MTV programs although the official schedule hasn't been released.

By the way what do y'all think of the "the drought ends 03.21.2006" advertising?
Personally I think it's catchy but that dishwasher ad was a little too much but in true MTV style.

Well I believe your cable company could decide to move it since it is an analogue channel but for the time being no.

No. TalkTV turns into MTV Canada.
Unless your cable company decides to move it into the basic package.
