Crave Schedules Including HBO, Starz, Showtime and Movies

I've decided to start a new thread to post schedule announcements for all Crave-related TV channels, including the Crave streaming service. This includes the Crave TV channels (formerly TMN) which include movies and many Showtime series, HBO Canada and Starz (formerly TMN Encore.)

Bell Media issues a combined press release for all these services for the upcoming month. I post schedule updates, series premieres and specials based on press releases. I will also post updates from U.S. sources such as series renewals and cancellations as they are announced. I don't usually post program descriptions or "PR-speak," so if you want more info, you can click on the associated link in the post.

On-air 24-hour schedules are available on the Crave site. These seem to extend for 2 weeks currently, and there is a print option that may show the full schedule for a month or two, but I'm not sure how often it will be updated.

To discuss the Crave service in general and to see previous schedules, please see this thread:

VEEP, BARRY, LEAVING NEVERLAND and THE CASE AGAINST ADNAN SYED were mentioned in the text of the last press release, but not on the lineup, so I updated that post.

I have been posting renewals and cancellations in the Bell Media Specialty Channel 2018-19 schedules. Future posts will now be in this thread, making things easier to follow.

There were several other renewals and cancellations posted in addition to the Counterpart cancellation. Here are some new HBO Canada updates.

Camping - limited series, no plans for a second season. (Hollywood Reporter)

Chernobyl (five-part miniseries) debuts on HBO in May. (Bell Media)

C.B. Strike (Cinemax) will get four new episodes on the BBC (UK) based on J.K Rowling’s latest book Lethal White. No word yet whether HBO Canada and Cinemax will show the new episodes. (Deadline)

Warrior (Cinemax) premieres Friday, April 5 at 10 p.m. ET. (Bell Media)

Outcast cancelled by Cinemax after two seasons. (Hollywood Reporter)

....there isn't a schedule for Starz.
Just as an FYI, there is a schedule in Movie Entertainment Magazine, which is where the Crave pdf comes from.

Those who need this information, feel free to contact Starz/Crave.

(I have no idea why they make such a mess of the pdf with HBO out of place and the dates all jumbled. It would be possible to take a "screenshot" of the pages as laid out in the magazine...)

#14 ·
Is the magazine only available as hard copy, or is there an online link you can post?
It appears to only be available as hard copy. It costs about $2/copy, but it's included in my overall package with Rogers and my "Grandfathered Ultimate VIP with Movies" package.

I tried searching the web for Movie Entertainment Magazine and like you I just found links at Crave or Starz and those either contained nothing as a pdf, or a link to an old Encore page from last November...

Interestingly, there is a link printed near the front of the magazine, but it's dead.

movieentertainment.ca

It also stated that it was published by "Feature Publishing Ltd" and I didn't find anything there either.

@DonR, StarZ is available as a $5.99/mo add-on to Crave. See https://www.crave.ca/subscribe. Scroll down to see the add-ons.

@57, I had that package and found out that I could cancel the magazine subscription and get the bill reduced by $2/mo.

movieentertainment.ca belonged to Astral Media. It looks like nobody at Bell could be bothered to renew it or maintain the site. Typical Bell, buy up the competition then gut services and raise prices.

I know, but I am not going to spend extra $5.99, just to see a few episodes of Counterpart. And by the way, Counterpart is still available...I just figured it out. Works fine on my Amazon Fire TV Stick, but for some reason my Apple TV is giving me that message about having to subscribe to StarZ. Everything else from Crave works fine on Apple TV...go figure.

The On-Air schedule of the Crave.ca site has been enhanced to include the schedules for Starz 1 and 2. The "print schedule" function now loads the March PDF including Crave 1-4, HBO 1 & 2 and Starz 1 & 2.

Starz announced that The Spanish Princess will premiere Sunday, May 5 in the U.S. (Source) The limited series is a followup to The White Queen and The White Princess, which were originally shown by Super Channel in Canada and are now available on Starz Canada. It's not clear if Super Channel will get first-run rights as a result of their previous contract, or if the series will go directly to Starz Canada since Lionsgate is the international distributor.

THE ROOK premieres this summer exclusively on STARZ. (Bell Media press release)

In the March 5 press release announcing that STARZ officially launched in Canada, they highlighted several series, including:

SWEETBITTER, Season 1 (new season 2019)
VIDA, Season 1 (new season 2019)
WARRIORS OF LIBERTY CITY (coming soon) - Debuted in U.S. September 2018.
POWER, Season 1-4 (Season 5 coming soon)
THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE, Season 1

I wanted to mention that Super Channel has The Girlfriend Experience season 2 available On Demand until May 4, 2019 and Power season 5 until Dec. 31 2019.

----

CRASHING (HBO) will not be returning for a fourth season, so this Sunday's episode will be its finale. SMILF (Showtime) will not move forward for a third season. The remainder of the second season will continue to air as scheduled through its series finale on March 31. (Source)

  • Episode 1 premieres on the STARZ linear channels on Sunday, March 24 at 9 p.m. ET with subsequent episodes airing weekly, Sundays at 9 p.m. ET
Bell Media Press Release

The first 2 episodes will be released on March 20 by Hulu in the U.S.

The March schedule says that Billions is part of "SHOWTIME Programming (Available on Crave)." Anything on the schedule that says "Available on Crave" is included in the basic price.

Programming in the sections of the schedule that say "Available on Crave + Movies + HBO" or "STARZ Series and Films (Available as part of the STARZ add-on to Crave)" require the corresponding subscription.

HBO U.S. confirmed the debut dates and estimated running times for the final six episodes of GAME OF THRONES (SUNDAY, APRIL 14 - MAY 19.) (Source)

If you have a basic Crave $10 subscription (or even an expired one), the new app lets you see all the content and tells you which add-on a program or season is in when you click on it. Black Sails is a good example. Season 1 in Crave, seasons 2-4 in Starz add on.

#30 ·
@andyk that's a good point, but you don't need an account to browse through the web interface. If you aren't logged in and it just says you need to subscribe, than the program is included in the basic Crave streaming subscription.

Here's the link for Power.

More examples:
True Detective "Season 3 requires a Movies + HBO subscription" (Link)
Game of Thrones "Season 7 requires a Movies + HBO subscription" (Link)

TMN is now Crave Movies, not Crave.
Yes, I know! I put "(TMN)" b'cuz there are probably other ppl besides us who subscribed to TMN but now it's Crave. You were asking what kind of subcription you needed to see things on Crave and I wanted ppl to know that even if they subscribed to TMN they would get Crave now.

Dr. Dave, thank you for the good news about Deadwood!
