'The Carmichael Show' renewed for Season 3 at NBC

NBC has renewed “The Carmichael Show” for 13 episodes, which will probably air sometime in 2017. Negotiations on the number of episodes delayed the renewal announcement.

'This Is Us' gets full season order at NBC

'This Is Us' will be receiving a total of 18 full episodes in its first season. That’s short of the traditional 22, but creator Dan Fogelman says he pushed for 18. “This order for a complete first season of 18 episodes is exactly what we’d wanted and hoped for,” Fogelman adds. “We’d carefully mapped out an 18-chapter story for the first year of the show, and this allows us to follow through with our exact initial intent.”

‘Timeless’ gets 3 more episodes, NBC sets date for ‘Taken’ and spring ‘Voice’

NBC has laid out its Monday schedule for the remainder of the season, setting dates for the spring cycle of “The Voice” and new drama “Taken” and adding to the order for first-year drama “Timeless.”

The network has asked for three more episodes of “Timeless,” bringing its total for the season to 16.

“Timeless” is off next week for a “Saturday Night Live” election special but will return for a five-episode run on Nov. 14. It will then take the holidays off and return for its final six episodes, with no pre-emptions, starting Jan. 16. Its lead-in for the last six weeks will be “The New Celebrity Apprentice,” which debuts Jan. 2.

“The Voice” will begin its second cycle of the season Monday, Feb. 27, with returning judge Gwen Stefani taking over for Miley Cyrus. “Taken,” a prequel to the Liam Neeson movies starring Clive Standen (“Vikings”) as a younger version of Bryan Mills, will also debut that night.
