The X Files (2016)

Boy, I was really disappointed in tonight's episode. I think they were trying to be cute and whimsical but it came across as really lame. However, Gillian still looks great. Here's hoping next week's show is better or I'm bailing.

My wife and I enjoyed the first two episodes. I wonder if we'll enjoy episode three...

We agree 100%. That was bad. It was all we could do to suffer through it.

BTW The fellow who played the monster was New Zealand actor Rhys Darby. I thought he was really funny playing Murray Hewitt in "Flight of the Conchords." However, the lines they gave him in X Files were pretty weak and the episode reminded me of, "Abbot and Costello Meets Frankenstein" and several other silly monster comedies of the 1940s and '50s.

I thought the first two episodes were a little lacking. Last night's episode was well-written, funny, and had a lot of classic exchanges between Mulder and Scully. There were quite a few of these type of episodes in the series and they never disappoint.

I tend to agree with @Raven119 in that the latest episode was similar to many of the comedic (monster of the week) episodes of the original series. "Bad Blood" for example.

I don't watch much commercial TV, therefore I was quite surprised to see "bugs" (splash screens?) appearing after each commercial that acted as another commercial for upcoming programming, etc. Not only is it annoying, but it hid some of the credits at the start of the show.

I loved the 3rd episode! They did an awesome job of parodying the whole old Mulder/Scully monster/not-a-monster story-line. It is great when a show becomes comfortable enough with itself to cross boundaries (similar to Supernatural.)

Thanks so much. I knew I'd seen him before and even thought of Flight, (which I only watched in bits and pieces as my son watched it), but I just couldn't place him.

Just watched the episode "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster" on PVR.
It was hilarious!

I can't believe there are only 3 left.

FOX should have done at least 12.
