Apparently the limited number of episodes was a stipulation by the actors. The initial talk was of a movie, which became these 6 episodes instead.

We enjoyed episode 3. It was good, goofy fun.

Not to mention (although I'm mentioning it) the 20 seconds where this man is making out with Scully. Something about Gillian Anderson... I don't consider this a spoiler by they way because until you've seen it...

I really liked tonight's episode, 4 I guess is the number. To me that is more like it.

I agree tonight's episode was great. The hospital scenes were shot at the now closed Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam, B.C. I worked there as a Psychiatric nurse for six years during the early '60s.

I thought the first five episodes were decent; my wife wasn't quite as enthusiastic about them. But we both agreed that the final episode was a ridiculous mess. Although we may re-visit the original series, we won't be watching any more sequels.

I had forgotten to post after watching the last couple of episodes, which were terrible. Except for the tongue-in-cheek humour of episode three, it was a sloping line towards a shark jump from episode 1 to 6 for us.

It was good to see Lauren Ambrose working - haven't seen much of her after 6' Under, but she won't cause me to watch a new version of the X-Files if that's what they're going for...

Loved them all, especially #3.

They were true to the original series yet updated to our time.

Personally I liked the last three episodes and hope more are made in the future. Anyone know how the ratings were?

Here's a summary of the U.S. ratings for the entire season - decent, but not spectacular after the first 2 episodes. Note: this site may overwhelm your browser with video ads.
The X-Files TV show on FOX: ratings (cancel or renew?)

Here are a couple of self-congratulatory press releases from Bell Media on the first 2 episodes:
The Viewers Are Out There: THE X-FILES Debuts as the Most-Watched Series Premiere of the Season with 2.4 Million Believers on CTV
LUCIFER Brings the Heat to Monday Night as 1.7 Million Viewers are Lured to Series Premiere on CTV

Numeris has Canadian ratings which include 7-day PVR playback. The latest figures for the week of February 8 - February 14, 2016 show X-Files was a distant second behind Big Bang Theory, but not too far ahead of NCIS and Criminal Minds.
