RIO 2016 OLYMPIC GAMES
Aug. 5-21 beginning at 7 a.m. ET (4 a.m. PT) each day
As Canada's Olympic Network, CBC/Radio-Canada, along with primary broadcast partners TSN, RDS as well as Sportsnet, will provide the most innovative and accessible Olympic Games coverage ever made available to Canadians. With more than 1275 combined hours of television coverage and more than 4000 hours of live streaming and innovative virtual reality experiences, Canadians will enjoy Rio 2016 like no Olympic Games before. Details of CBC/Radio-Canada's programming plans for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games from September 7-18, 2016 will be announced in the coming months.

CBC/RADIO-CANADA ROLLS OUT ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMING DETAILS FOR ITS LARGEST-EVER OLYMPIC GAMES PRODUCTION

Broadcast partners TSN and Sportsnet will provide long-form event coverage for individual sports such as marathon, road cycling and triathlon, and team sports like basketball, soccer and volleyball while CBC will focus on every Canadian Olympic Games result and all medal moments.

To support Canada's connection to the Games even further, CBC's free online live streaming channels (up to 23 daily) will be available on the desktop website at cbc.ca/olympics and through an app dedicated to Rio 2016 for iOS and Android devices.

CBC/Radio-Canada will offer a virtual reality experience for the first time ever. CBC Virtual Reality will provide viewers with both a 360-degree motion-sensitive stream as well as an immersive virtual reality stream for use with compatible headset technology. These exclusive immersive and 360-degree streams will allow Canadians to get closer to the Games than ever before through more than 100 hours of Olympic Games event coverage.
