Thanks .I obviously had seen that but still wonder if and when Rizzoli and Isles will return .
Showcase site still shows the show as Wednesdays at 10 but that hopefully will change to when it is returning .

Just so you know...the American season of Rizzoli & Isles is on right now.

It really irks me that these Canadian conglomerates purchase these decent American TV Series only to hold onto them until the US has broadcast them already.

I believe they are helping in the decline of the Canadian TV market because with binge watching becoming more and more prevalent...people will start to purchase the DVD's or simply download the series and probably end up watching before the Canadian rights holder agrees to distribute the TV Series in Canada. The Internet has changed the playing field in favor of consumers and these silly business models that refuse to change with the times will soon become extinct along with the dinosaurs that run them imho...end of rant.

Rizzoli & Isles S5 Ep 15 is showing tonight on Super Channel (so Canada will be up to date with the U.S.) If you like binge watching, Super Channel will have a season 5 marathon March 21 & 22.

Showcase bought the second window of Rizzoli & Isles, so they have to wait a certain amount of time after the original broadcast of an episode. TNT in the U.S. split both season 4 and 5 into 2 parts, so Showcase has to wait until it can show the end of season 4. The same thing will happen with season 5 on Showcase next year.

Only the last 4 episodes were part of the second half so called of season 4 . Episodes 9 through 12 were on the same time frame as episodes 1 through 8 so it would seem likely that it is a corporate decision on showcase's part and not part of the second window deal.
Will there be a free preview of superchannel during that marathon ?

My guess is Showcase needed to make room for DIG, so they decided to split the Rizzoli & Isles season after episode 8, instead of splitting it after episode 12.

DIG runs for 10 episodes, so maybe Rizzoli & Isles will continue after DIG finishes. (I'm not sure exactly when the second window opens for episode 13.)

I agree . What i find bothersome is that the network makes no attempt to tell viewers when a show they might have been watching will return .
