Agreed. Terrific series. It ended too quickly, IMO.
Hopefully they cast it with the same caliber of talent for the second season.

Yes it was sublime. Could not keep my eyes away. Not just great acting but the tone of the series was gripping. Directing, photgraphy, everything was great.

Took me about three episodes to get hooked but man, its a good one. Its a real shame it was set up to be a one and done with this cast.

Hi everybody HBO Canada is showing this again starting TONITE! If you haven't seen it you should watch it! I think we will watch it again to try to catch everything that happened from the start.

Awesome show and awesome story. I really like the idea of new story and new actors each season.

My only complaint, I couldn't understand what Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) was saying half the time. Was it just me or did he mumble a lot? Had to turn on subtitles just to see what he was saying. Had no issues understanding anyone else.

I have a photographic memory, trouble is most times the lens cap is on.

Me too. He's was talking in a low mumbled texan accent and I had to use subs too.

Too slow and boring for me to continue past the first episode (but also skimmed through other episodes and the finale ... still blah, blah, blah, what did he say?):

Ha, I didn't notice the accent because I tend to watch all shows with subtitles.

I liked it, right through to when we were lead to believe the one guy may have had something to do with it. But then, when they revealed who it really was, there was no more mystery and the last couple of episodes...especially the last...played like an episode of some network tv show. There's the bad guy and we know he'll get caught. Sure we didn't know if the main guys would die or live, but it didn't matter since we were already told they wouldn't be back for next season. All mystery and intrigue were sucked out of the show for the last episode.

True Detective Season 3
Just saw another episode of this great series but I have a hard time understanding Mahershala Ali's (Det.Hays) adopted Southern accent. I sometimes have to play back the PVR. several times to get what he says. Never-the-less, he's a good actor and you can read his thoughts when someone throws a racial slur at him. I have no trouble understanding the rest of the cast.
His wife, Amelia, is played by Carmen Ejogo who is a British actress born in London,England. She has a nice, very soft and sexy voice and it's hard to believe that she isn't from the American South.
I still think that Season 1 was the best of the seasons and I would like to see Woody and Mathew in the next series, if there is one.

If I have trouble understanding, I often turn on closed captioning (for the entire programme). I usually do this for many of the British series, etc.
