I believe the movies that air at 1 am on Saturday and Sunday night are uncensored and uncut but I'm not 100 percent sure.

When China and other countries "edit" broadcast material contents, USA calls it censorship. When USA does her own editing, it is called democracy!

One of the worst hatchet jobs I've ever seen was done on the classic,"Planes,Trains,& Automobiles." I told my son to PVR it if it ever comes on one of those channels that re-runs older movies. I mentioned the hilarious scene where Steve Martin approaches the car rental agent.(played by Edie McClung who is currently battling dementia.) I warned him about all the F-bombs and not to show it if our grandson was around. A few weeks later, he phoned me and said he and his wife didn't think that scene was one bit funny as most of the dialogue was just a series of beeps due to excessive censoring!

Specialty - but not premium - channels (such as AMC, Showcase, Space and the like) have commercials. Therefore, movies aired on them will be cut to allow commercials. As their airing slots are limited in time - usually 2 hours - they do need to get rid of parts of the movies to allow commercials. If one wants to watch movies in their entirety and uninterrupted, one needs to go to premium channels.
