Futurama Season 6....it's back!! But where in canada?

Anyone know if there are any Canadian networks that will be broadcasting the new season of Futurama?

It starts June 24 on Comedy Central in the US

The comedy network is typically the one to have any comedycentral shows in Canada, but hopefully it's on a big network (i.e. OTA) so the greatness of Futurama can reach everyone

I just hope it doesn't suck. A lot of shows that are revived after a few years end up being nothing like the original (or perhaps nostalgia makes the old one seem better?)

apparently global still has the rights
the comedy network has a a deal for all shows that comedy central produces but futurama is still being made by 20th century fox television

Yea I figured it would air on Global sometime this summer, or this fall on Sundays at 7:30. Its not on the fall schedule, so if Global airs it I'd guess it will be on Sundays at 10:30 this summer. Global's summer Sunday lineup is currently listed as

8:00pm: Big Brother
9:00pm: Family Guy
9:30pm: American Dad
10:00pm: The Simpsons
10:30pm: Sons of Tucson

Those episodes of Sons of Tucson have never aired on Global before, but considering that Fox cancelled the show I'm not even sure why they are airing them.

FOX is also airing them on Sundays. Not sure why Global has chosen to air them without simsububbing - they are airing Family Restaurant at the time Fox has scheduled Sons of Tucson and then SoT later in the night.

Isn't this the movies repackaged as half hour shows?

The movies are considered Season 5.

This is a new season that came about because the movies did so well.

I hope that a major HD network picks it up as I hear that it is being broadcast in HD.

I don't think the Comedy channel here has ever aired an episode. It's either been Global (Fox) or Teletoon.

It's too bad jumptheshark.com no longer exists ever since it was sold to TV Guide and they wiped out everything associated with it. Fry and Leela would probably have the show nominated for the "They Did It" category.

According to the Comedy Central Press Release it is season 6. It looks like a user at TV.com decided to add the Futurama movies as season 6, so they had to add the current season as 7.

Depends on how you define "season"

According to when the shows were produced, this is the 6th season, however, due to Fox's sporadic airing of episodes, they held over episodes from one production session to air in another TV "season".

The main thing is that it's back, baby! It's gonna be fun on a bun.

So, if no one is going to air it in Canada then bit torrent here I come!

Ordinarily he was insane, but he had lucid moments when he was merely stupid.
