I heard that it's supposed to air in HD on Global on Sunday but it hasn't been confirmed on their website schedule.

Sorry, it's not airing on Global. I received this today:

"Dear Futurama Viewers:

Thank you for your email. Programming has confirmed with us that Teletoon now owns the rights to all episodes of Futurama. For more information on the show, including possible new episodes, please visit their website at http://www.teletoon.com

Watched the first two episodes and... Bender's back baby!

Ordinarily he was insane, but he had lucid moments when he was merely stupid.

Yep! The third episode has definitely proven beyond a doubt that they're back! The timing couldn't have been any better!

Does anybody know if the new season is sourced in 16x9?

Cheers

Yeah, I think it's 16x9. Or 624x352 file resolution.

Is anyone watching the new episodes? Still the best.

It's definitely 16x9. And still hilarious.

Great to Hear

Good news that Futurama is back. Also nice to know that Teletoon has it and not a major OTA network which would show each ep. once and then forget it. It's got a better chance of surviving on the former than on the latter. The big networks are too ratings driven. We've all seen good series that never even made it through a single season before being cancelled.

The downside of course is that it won't be in HD but who knows what Teletoon's long range plans may be? I would expect that most new animated series are are all shot in HD. Teletoon will want to take advantage of that if they have any sense.

It's even more nasty and revealing than ever before, but still very relevant and thought provoking.

Also, I WANT A BABY BENDER! THEY'RE SO CUUUUUUUTE!

Has Teletoon started showing the new episodes yet (post-movies)? I've just been watching the new episodes online. Last Thursday's episode was great. The Clamp vs The Claw!

As far as I know the new episodes won't be on Teletoon until the fall.
