Movie central is now showing Hardcore Porn !!!

Wow so right now movie Central is airing A stormy Daniels porno movie called the lifestyle

when I came across it in on my PVRs guide I thought it would be a softcore movie like CityTV used to air

I am surprised that they are able to air stuff like this I know that they are premium cable but still I thought that this sort of stuff was only allowed on channels like playboy

TMN has been airing porn for a long time too, but usually after midnight on weekends, I think. Mostly on MXS and occasionally on MHD.

Yeah, first mention of Porn on TMN was 7 years ago - see the following thread:

http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/show...ht=tmn%2A+porn

Astral (TMN) and Corus (MC) often negotiate movie purchases together for more buying leverage. It's interesting that MC took this long to air porn. As stated above, the movies usually air in the first timeslot after midnight on TMN. They have a huge number of porn movies on TMN-HD and air almost nightly...

I'm guessing that this offering is lucrative.

Here's a recent thread on TMN content. Note that this is a frank, adult conversation on Porn content.

PS, we're not trying to take this MC thread off-topic, just supplying some background material.

From their online schedules, it appears adult movies are being shown Saturday mornings at 2:00AM (MT), give or take 15 minutes. There are no repeats. And yes, they're on the HD channel as well.

Actually, they're not. Confessions of a Porn Addict is a comedy, not porn.

Since you insist on the distinction, how about providing some definitions so your comments can be better assessed.

not off hand of any specific movies but there are movies that are too much stuff in the rating terms to not be rated R.

Although this seems like a silly debate, TVGuide (who provides the guide data used by virtually all cablecos and satcos in Canada) uses Adult for any program that carries the '18A' rating as defined by the Canadian Television Classification System.

18A is defined as:
Quote:
ADULT

Intended for viewers 18 years and older.

This classification applies to programming which could contain any or all of the following content elements which would make the program unsuitable for viewers under the age of 18.

Violence Guidelines
Might contain depictions of violence, which while integral to the development of plot, character or themes, are intended for adult viewing, and thus are not suitable for audiences under 18 years of age.

Other Content Guidelines
Language- might contain graphic language
Sex/Nudity- might contain explicit portrayals of sex and/or nudity
Clearly, 18A includes pornography. It also includes HBO and MC series such as Durham County and True Blood. Because 18A means "Adult" TVGuide has chosen to use the word adult to denote all 18A programming.
