I'll really miss Life.

I really enjoyed the serial/backstory.

So many loose ends that I wish they would have wrapped up.

Also not all of the shows on that list were cancelled, some of them just decided to end their runs (ie, Boston Legal, ER)

Boston Public was a good show too. Then FOX moved it to Friday night and they never even finished the season.

I did enjoy Southland. Hopefully we will see it in the fall.

I don't know about everybody else but seems like alot of shows got axed this year. Hopefully we'll see some good replacements in the fall. If not there's always hockey.

I hear ya, Jericho and Daybreak were great shows with potential. Daybreak is the name of the other show you were talking about BTW.

Echoing a common refrain in this thread, Life was one of our favourites. Definitely going to miss that one.

Sad part is, it'll probably be replaced with some reality garbage...or a talk show in prime time.

Reality shows cost very little to produce, and the ratings are almost as good (or better in the case of American Idol) than a show with actors and sets that cost much more.

The more cheap reality shows there are, the less good series there are. But as long as we are satisfied with watching reality shows then the studios don't have to pay big bucks for actors, scripts, etc. So it comes down to what the viewer is willing to watch.

That really sucks that The Unit is being canceled. That was one show I've always really enjoyed.

Terminator vs Dollhouse

Couldn't agree more! FOX should have ordered 13 more episodes of Terminator for a shorter Season 3, rather than a full 20 or 24 if it was too expensive to make or whatever.

"Dollhouse" had dreadful writing that made me hate the cast.

Generally I've grown tired of 24 episodes per season for most shows...typically the first few lay the groundwork of the season arc and try to hook you, the next 10 to 15 are pure filler and one-offs, with the odd scene or episode furthering the arc, and then the last 2 or 3 are actually worth watching. "Supernatural" is one of the worst offenders...although I still watch it.

I miss "The Sopranos"...Hopefully the Blu-rays are being mastered as I type this.

Reality shows are a plague, the only one we really watch is Big Brother, more for the social experiment aspect of it.

I really miss Life, great characters, they didn't take themselves too seriously, and had an engaging story line.

The Unusuals never really got a shake, I don't think it really got any advertising, and the little I did see before it started didn't do the show justice. It gave the show the wrong impression from what it really was.

Life on Mars was one of the most original shows in a long time.

I am beginning to wonder if a lot of the shows I'm interested in are going away because I'm growing out of the "ideal demographic" that they're trying to reach. When something as weak as Dollhouse can survive half the shows mention in the posts, there's something wrong.
