Hitting the Global schedule midseason is the gritty new drama Shades of Blue, new event series Containment and the latest installment to the Chicago franchise Chicago Med.
I noticed that Global is airing the movie Limitless, upon which the new TV series is based - Sunday September 20 at 9:00PM ET. It might be an interesting introduction to someone who is planning to watch the series.
Jason Priestley will return as Host of the upcoming 2015 Canada's Walk of Fame airing Thursday, December 17 at 8pm ET/PT on Global. Tickets to the ceremony on November 7, 2015 go on sale beginning Tuesday, September 29.
Global will air the first few episodes of the CW and Showcase show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on Thursdays at 10pm ET beginning Oct. 15 until Elementary returns to the time slot on Nov. 5.
Global TV will have election coverage on Monday October 19, so they will fit Minority Report and NCIS Los Angeles either before or after the election coverage (local times vary) and could be as late as 2 AM, or later if election coverage runs over the scheduled time. Chicago Fire will be moved to Wednesday October 21 at 9 PM ET for one time only.
The schedule for Monday October 26 (ET):
7:30 pm Minority Report
8:30 pm Supergirl premiere (simsub CBS)
9:30 pm Chicago Fire
10:30 pm Truth Be Told (repeat)
Production has begun on The Code (working title) starring Jason Priestley. Set to premiere on Global in spring 2016, this new 10-episode one-hour drama series will be shot on location in and around Toronto.
Monday October 26 10:30PM First Dates repeat of a SLICE episode instead of Truth Be Told.
Wednesday October 28 9PM Chicago PD 2 hour episode.
Thursday October 29 8PM-10PM Bones and Sleepy Hollow will have a crossover on Fox. However, Global won't air Bones until Friday October 30, while Sleepy Hollow will be simsubbed by CTV2 on Thursday. It's probably easier to watch on Fox if you want to watch both, or record Sleepy Hollow to watch after Bones.
Saturday October 31 8PM: Supergirl repeat of today's premiere, looks like one-time only.
Wednesday November 4 9PM Bones returns to it's regular schedule on Global (pre-FOX.)
Monday November 2 9PM Chicago Fire (pre-NBC.)
Friday November 6 10PM Minority Report (post-FOX) - Global is just burning off the rest of the series.
Child abuse awareness is at the forefront of the thought-provoking and powerful documentary that tells the narrative of former NHL hockey player Sheldon Kennedy. Swift Current premieres Saturday, November 21 at 9 pm ET/PT on Global.
Lizzy on the run. Alex on the run. Jane Doe on the run. Now we're going to have Haylee on the run. How many damsels in distress shows do the networks think the audience can tolerate?
Global is taking advantage of the NCIS: New Orleans rerun on CBS to simsub a new episode of Chicago Fire on NBC at 10PM ET on Tuesday, Dec. 1 only. Global will fill the vacuum from 9-11PM on Dec. 2 with a Bones and NCIS rerun.
Tuesday Dec. 8
10PM Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (simsub CBS)
Wednesday Dec. 9
10PM Chicago Fire (regular Global timeslot, 1 day after NBC)
Notes: The blog doesn't give an air date for Telenovela. The time for Superstore seems odd since it conflicts with NBC's Truth Be Told, which Global also airs.
NBC has changed the sequence of the Chicago shows for the triple crossover only, so Global got it right.
"CHICAGO FIRE" 01/05/2016 (09:00PM - 10:00PM) (Tuesday) special time: "The Beating Heart" (#410) THE FIREHOUSE IS SHOCKED TO DISCOVER THAT ONE OF THEIR OWN BECOMES THE SURPRISING VICTIM OF A STABBING AND AN ATTEMPTED SUICIDE RAISES SOME QUESTIONS - THREE-PART STORY ARC CROSSES OVER INTO "CHICAGO MED" AND CONCLUDES THE FOLLOWING NIGHT ON "CHICAGO P.D."
We'll have to wait to see the full midseason schedule. Here are some other observations.
Telenovela is not on the first week schedule.
NBC is burning off the last 2 episodes of Truth Be Told on Christmas day, which explains why Global wasn't concerned about it for January. Global doesn't have the show on their schedule
I'll be recording the 3 Chicago shows on NBC West that week. Global moves at least one of them every two weeks I swear. I don't trust Cogeco when simsubs are involved with shows that keep moving.
Although, they've hinted there may be a new broadcaster for next year. It had moved from CHCH after Global sold them to Channel Zero, and I think they may have gotten a bit too carried away in making it progressively larger each year.
The show will continue producing new episodes for the remainder of the season. It is shown on Global TV in Canada and is also syndicated on various U.S. channels available in Canada.
Global is burning off the first 3 episodes of Telenovela that they acquired but never actually aired on the broadcast network, followed by the last 2 episodes of Truth Be Told on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 7.
