Inside The CBC

First, I want to say this: I swear to god(s), I didn't make this up.

CBC has issued a news release to media announcing that Ottawa-born actress Sandra Oh will guest-host a special season finale of CBC Radio One's Go. In recognition of Gay Pride weekend across North America, the show will be called The Gayest Music of All Time.

I take it they're not talking about a salute to Marvin Gaye...

Well, I'm kind of curious now on what will be played.

I have no idea what the Gayest music will be except the stereotype would suggest lots of showtunes and maybe the village people.

That stereotype, however, would be wrong since I can say with conviction that I am a heterosexual who really likes broadway musicals, dance numbers choreographed by Bob Fosse and YMCA.

BTW: Shouldn't it be gaiest music not gayest music?

No. In popular culture, at least in my eye, they are associated with the rave scene of the 90s.

Closer though, they are a neat batteryless emergency or mood light, and have some neat hacking potential as a science experiment.

At least they don't use the same glowing material they used to use long ago on watch dials.

Because, I am guessing, she is gay, and the one Grey's cast memeber that Isaiah Washington got fired over.

What year is this discussion taking place , anyway ???

Sandra was married and is now divorced from writer/director Alexander Payne who wrote her that terrific role in 'Sideways' a few years ago. There are plenty of people like Sandra or Eric McCormack comfortable enough to work on projects with gay associations even if they may happen to be heterosexual. Yes, it's 2007 !

And Mr Washington's dismissal from Grey's Anatomy reportedly had a lot more to do with a repeated history of disruptive behavior on the set than just the one incident ( involving a male cast member, not Ms Oh ) that you would prefer to blame on a pro-gay bias.
