We just had Ignite service installed and the original Rogers cable disconnected is it possible to view previously saved programs from my Nextbox on my computer or TV.
No. For the Nextbox to boot you need to be connected to Rogers digital cable service. If you wanted to watch any of those programmes you would have needed to disconnect the RF-coax from the box before switching and you would need to ensure that it didn't power down, requiring a reboot (using a UPS for example).
The information on the hard drive is encrypted and there is no way to view it via a computer for example. The only way is with a properly booted PVR that the drive was in.
Unfortunately, the time to do that was before Ignite was installed and Digital TV was disconnected. It is possible to record the programming using a video capture device or DVD recorder but it may be too late. If you can still watch programming, just make sure the power is not disconnected as that will make the recordings inaccessible.
Another possibility is to activate the PVR on another account. The recordings will still be there. They may then be watched or recorded. Rogers will not reactivate your digital account on the same line as Ignite TV so it has to be someone with Rogers Digital TV.
