Prime Programing

Wonder if this is a new programing issue for streaming services. American Gods is one of several programs on Prime that streams new editions on a weekly basis instead of one big dump. Not sure what the advantage would be as you pay yearly in most cases. Guess they want control over subscribers?

American Gods is a Starz series, so Amazon Canada doesn't get the weekly episode until it's shown on the Starz channel in the U.S.

EDIT: Starz just renewed American Gods for season 3.

This isn't too unusual for shared production shows. Netflix is doing the same thing with Riverdale, which it co-produces with the CW.

Sky has ordered a third season of its original UK drama-thriller series Tin Star which is streamed on Amazon in Canada. (Deadline)

EDIT: This will be the "final chapter of the trilogy."

The Canadian Press service seems to have stopped its summary of new releases for the upcoming month for Amazon, Netflix and Crave. Here is the list from another source. I looked this up to confirm that Bosch season 5 will be available on Amazon in Canada, since Crave announced they would also have all 10 episodes the same day. American Gods season 2 will continue to stream weekly after it's shown on Starz U.S. It will eventually be shown on Super Channel in Canada after the season is completed.

What’s New on Amazon Prime Video in Canada for April 2019

April 1
American Gods Season 2 (new episodes weekly)
Jellyfish
Song of Back and Neck
The Dark
Cocaine Prison
Village Rockstars
Other Side of Everything

April 5
The Tick season 2

April 12
Chad Daniels: Dan Chaniels

April 19
Bosch S5
All these Small Moments

April 26
Suspiria

Some 2,500 hours of The Jim Henson Company’s programming is now available on Amazon Prime Video. Beginning today, the content, which includes specials and series, is offered in 68 English language territories including the U.S. and Canada. See the Deadline article for the content available in each territory.

Related: The Jim Henson Company's series Farscape is available in the US, UK, Canada, and several other countries on Amazon Prime Video, newly remastered in HD.

wife has an amazon prime subscription and wanted to try it out, she apparently is a women so she does not know that the prime gives you access to the prime video service. my only beef is this, when i put the amazon prime video app on my phone it automatically signed me in based on me being signed in on my other amazon apps (kindle, alexa, amazon shopping). so i tried to sign out and sign in using my wifes credentials, but when i signed out of the prime video app and was about to sign in with my wifes credentials, it signed me out of all my other amazon apps, is this normal? i want to use my login for the amazon shopping and alexa and kindle apps and only her login for amazon prime video, i wrote to the e-chat support and they could not help me.. maybe the apps are written that way?

Jennifer Salke is the Head of Amazon Studios, DV Prime Video TV. She oversees all aspects of television and film development as well as production for Amazon's Global entertainment division. ... Prior to Amazon, Salke was President of NBC Entertainment, a title she had held since July 2011.

Also, apparently a woman.

Amazon and Google finally ended their video feud - here is today's press release. The updates will be done "in the coming months."

Glad to see that. Not having Prime Video on Chromecast was a disappointment.

Now if Amazon Canada would start selling Google Chromecast, that would be great.
