Whoa...what? You are saying that Telus prevents you from skipping commercials on programs you've recorded with their PVR? This is the first I'm hearing of this and if it's true would be huge (bad) news in the Canadian marketplace!

Maybe it's the On-Demand stuff, I'm not 100% certain as I hardly use either function on my PVR.

They do that for Shaw on Demand.

For the local channels(CTV, Global, City) fast forward is disabled. Rewind is also disabled on CTV shows and some City shows. I don't why or how they decide it.

Fast forward and rewind works fine for all the other Shaw on demand channels.

I have to say, with my trial to Hulu Plus I've been very unimpressed. My impressions I think of Hulu were several years old from when it originally launched, and I hadn't had the opportunity until now to try it for myself. I had been under the impression that subscribers paid for Hulu Plus to avoid the commercials.

The selection seems good, but watching 10 Nationwide commercials per half hour just isn't my thing, especially for a service I'm paying for. Our one week free trial's already over so we're into the first billing month. I really don't think we're getting our money's worth, so we might just end up dropping it, maybe try it again in a few years when the service has matured and they've figured out their business model in terms of who is paying for what.

Been a Hulu Plus customer for about a year now, and count me in as pretty unimpressed. Likely going to cancel my sub soon, but am still a bit loathe to do so since they do have some content and jumped through so many hoops to get it up and running.

While content is very limited for a pay service, biggest issue for me is the technology. I find often that after the commercials I go to a black screen and the content doesn't play. Really annoying and glitchy. The one bright spot for me was their show "Behind the Mask" which featured a number of amateur to pro sports mascots behind the scenes. Actually pretty entertaining series...

The streaming service I'm test driving now is Qello but will write about that one in another thread once I've really given it a go...

Hulu makes sense if you have no, or only basic cable, if you are looking at it to provide a lot of additional content like Netflix does, then Hulu is not for you.

I like it as for $8/month I get access to content that I would have to subscribe to 3 or 4 theme packs to get.
