HABCW, HCBSW, HNBCW and PBSHD Mixups - Videotron, Cogeco & Rogers - Fixed

Since this morning, i'm getting NBCHD Seatle on 651 (PBSHD). Anyone else getting this ?

Maybe it's a problem with Rogers?

We're getting PBS over NBC on Rogers. Yesterday evening all of the timeshift channels were down for me. You may wish to e-mail Videotron, as Rogers may have mapped the channels back incorrectly.

Interesting that the PBS-HD station, on our channel 524, where NBC-HD West belongs, is not Buffalo, rather a station without a logo, perhaps Spokane?

HCBSW and HABCW are also swapped.

I'm bumping this thread today because a lot of people may be angry due to this Rogers mixup on the HD timeshift channels. Please e-mail or call Rogers so that they straighten out this mess.

To Repeat (HD Timeshifts)

ABC is on CBS' channel
CBS is on ABC's channel
PBS is on NBC's channel

To clarify things with Videotron, every HD channels is from Rogers.

Videotron receive channels from Rogers, Bell ExpressVu, Camcon and from the broadcaster (like Astral and Radio-Canada). I'll post the source for every channel later today.

I phoned Rogers about 19:00 Jun 16 and they knew about the problem - gave no ETA on when it would be fixed. Hard to imagine what kind of technical glitch would do this. Hackers?

Did anyone notice that the PQ of a PBS-HD western feed from Spokane (Rogers, channel 524) is substantially better than PBS-HD eastern feed from Buffalo (Rogers, channels 525 & 530)? You can see that Buffalo broadcast has some visible compression artifacts. I believe Seattle's PBS-HD feed used to have the best PQ, Spokane was a little worse, and Buffalo feed is the worst of 3 and looks plain bad at times. What a shame...

I sent Rogers an e-mail on the subject yesterday and they replied today with the usual "Please give us a call". Pain in the butt.

I called them and their system is currently down, and I need to call back at 2PM. More pain in the butt. At least they pick up right away...

I'll have a look at the 524/525 difference in PQ in the meantime.

Still screwed up (HDNBC West) on both channels. Can't believe they would have such a problem for so long.

marvin23. I'm confused. I can't get HNBCW. PBS is on 524 and 525 for me. Are you saying you have the opposite issue?

Stuff is wacky in HD land today.

Here in Ottawa, NBC-HD was a blank screen, other channels were OK. A reset of the box fixed it up.

I just talked to a CSR and they are aware of the issue as mentioned earlier. I could understand not having anything on NBC if they don't have the Seattle signal, however, to have CBS and ABC backwards should be fixable immediately and why they have PBS on the NBC channel is also, as you say, "wacky".

The CSR agreed with me, but couldn't comment why it's taken so long to fix. I've tried rebooting the STB and nothing changes.

jvincent did you do a "reset" or a "reboot"?

They rebooted my STB remotely.

Apparently NBC was out in Moncton, where my CSR was located, as well.

Thanks for the feedback. Have you checked to ensure HCBSW and HABCW aren't reversed?

I don't subscribe to the HD timeshifts so I can't say. The other network feeds were all OK for me though.

I wonder if they are remapping channels onto different frequencies and that's causing the problems?
