Should I plug my 8300 on UPS like an APC BE550 UPS??

Thanks

Sure, I have mine plugged in, as well as some other equipment. It'll keep the unit running (and recording) in the event of a short power failure, that doesn't affect the cable signal. Not all power failures affect cable (most don't).

It only draws 30 Watts max.

Although I don't think that getting one for those rare occasions that I'm recording something & the power goes out is worth it, I do think that getting one to protect my TV is probably a good idea.

57, any model recommendations? I'd like something that would protect the TV and other equipment from surges & spikes and of course one that is ultra-quiet.

Thanks...

Has been discussed plenty of times in the proper forum. Read through a few of the threads. See below:

UPS don't make any noise, until there is a power failure, then there are warning beeps.

I'm moving this thread to that forum, since it's not specific to Videotron.
