Optik Turbo Pricing

For those who do not know, Telus reduced their bundled pricing from $56.00 to $44.00. They did not update this on my bill though. I had to phone them, and request that this price decrease be applied to my bill. Just a heads up to people to check their billing!

Noticed this on the website the other day and was shocked that a Canadian cable/telco actually LOWERED the price on something. No doubt to better compete with Shaw, which increased it's 15Mbps offering to 25Mbps quite some time ago and now offers 50Mbps in the standard package. Regardless, I Immediately upgraded and am now enjoying 3MB/s downloads.

No discount on the 15Mbps pricing? Still $39 with a bundle. For $5 I think that's worth an upgrade.

I have seen as high as 2.4MB/s when torrenting but speedtest.net always returns some wacky results. I've never gotten above 20Mbps downlink during a speedtest and usually get below 15Mbps. Upload speed is great, I get a consistent 2.75Mbps which is higher than what the cap should be. When I was capped at 15Mbps on the regular optik internet plan I ALWAYS got between 14Mbps-15Mbps without fail. I thought the advantage with Telus was that the speed was always consistent, it's not according to speedtest.net.

I also did a ping test on pingtest.net and got like an F grade everytime, however I have no lag in online games at all. Wonder why those sites are reporting such bad results?
