By the way, in addition to the normal 2.4 and 5Ghz wifi, there is also an invisible 5GHz wifi you cannot disable on the HH3000 - it is used when you have FibeTV.

It is always on. no matter what.

I tried the Media Converter way and could not get it to work. I have not given up yet, will try later. I just want full control of my Router and remote access. The HH3000 offers very little control and no remote access.

dshel: Thanks for the info.... yes I am aware of the "other" 5GHZ channel. The Tech did tell me that this channel would be available "in time" if the 3000 senses that it is not being used for TV purposes.
