wow thats the biggest channel lineup i seen for IPTV yet although the only other one i seen was the IPTV offerien from aliant which barely has any channels. PVR access option may not matter as there may be ways down the road to use dsome software to use your own PVR program

There will be some compensation (likely in credit/promotion towards the new service) when it is available in your area. Unfortunately, it's too far out to be specific. Since Portage doesn't have MTStv, this is something that only applies to people in Winnipeg.

If MTS moves to the Microsoft Media Room model as seen with AT&T U-Verse, that's a definite win for MTS TV customers. However, MTS doesn't have the local bandwidth, from what I understand, that AT&T has -- ie around 30 mbps allowing for two streams of 6 mbps HD using MPEG4 plus a decent Internet connection (10 mbps). U-Verse crossed the 1 million customer mark recently.

It certainly will put even more pressure on Shaw!
